| dc.description.abstract | In this thesis, I advance a techno-inclusive model of disability. I motivate the need for a techno-inclusive model by looking at the current state of affairs for both assistive technology and disability theory respectively. Seeing a gap in understanding and usefulness of current approaches to disability, I advance a techno-inclusive model of disability which is also inclusive of disabled perspectives and needs of a variety of assistive technology. I then apply the techno inclusive model to the Ontario policy context as it relates to assistive technology and make a number of recommendations to improve the current system, and argue for these changes on the basis of the techno-inclusive model. | en |
