dc.description.abstractA new POCOP pincer-type ligand was synthesized and characterized. This new ligand gave rise to the first POCOP pyridylidene pincer-type ruthenium and iridium complexes. Investigations into structural and electronic parameters of these newly generated compounds were conducted. Furthermore, we prepared ruthenium dihydrogen and bis-dihydrogen complexes and studied them via deuterium labelling and low temperature NMR spectroscopy. These complexes were screened for catalysis in C-C coupling, C-H bond activation and ketone hydrogenation reactions.en
