Positioned between mass-produced furniture and fully custom millwork, the platform promotes user agency by allowing individuals to customize designs to better fit their space, preferences, and needs. By simplifying the design process and making it more affordable, this approach aims to bridge the gap between mass production and craft production through the concept of mass customization. The platform also addresses the following issues: limited control over furniture design, high cost barriers to custom millwork, difficulty in connecting with fabricators, and the need for furniture that can adapt over time. Additionally, it will offer intelligent design feedback to help users make informed decisions about materials, costs, and sustainability. The final product includes a digital tool that allows users to configure pre-designed units into furniture and connects them with local builders for fabrication.
